Thought i'd switch gears and draw something non-human for a change. I really haven't practiced drawing other things for quite some time and I think I should get back into it.
So I figured i'd throw some time into a simple object, a Beetle. Seems simple right? Just draw the little critter and plop it up on DA. No, you'd be surprised how a simple object can get complicated. If i'm throwing in a proper technique that is.
I started off with a pencil drawing and then inked it with a sharpie pen. Scanned it, cleaned it up and then plopped the colors on. It really is a simple object, but when you layer in all the steps involved, it can take some real time to complete. This is the idea, as I think practicing this way will bring me towards my goal of becoming a better artist.
Thanks for having a look!
